Classes are sliding scale: $15-30.
This fun, beginner-friendly class invites you to explore the rich and evolving art of bellydance (raqs sharqi) in a body-positive, inclusive space. This pop-up combines accessible technique with playful combos, encouraging self-expression and confidence at every level—no experience necessary.
More than just movement, this class offers a culturally respectful introduction to the history and context of bellydance, helping students connect with the deeper roots of the art form and its global community.

What Should I Wear?
Wear something comfortable and easy to move around in, like a t-shirt, tank top, and stretch pants. Hip scarves are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Feel free to dance in bare feet, socks, ballet slippers or non-marking rubber-soled jazz shoes.
Do I need to wear a mask?
Masks are optional. The studio is spacious, allowing for physical distancing, as needed. If you are not feeling well, please stay home and rest!
What if there is Bad Weather?
I will post on social media and email students if class is canceled due to bad weather. I follow Richmond City Public School closings.
Do you have Scholarship Opportunities?
Yes. At Electric Nomad, we believe deeply that income should not be a barrier to dance. Scholarship opportunities are available for each session. Please email radical.shimmies@gmail.com to learn more.
